Full Tilt's FTOPS XI kicks off with massive turn out

The Full
Tilt Online Poker Series (FTOPS) have officially started its eleventh run with
the first $1 million guaranteed tournaments featured in the FTOPS XI schedule. The
$200 buy-in No limit Hold’em Event #1 kicked off at 9 p.m and prolonged for
almost 13 hours, the first event registered a total of 6,275 entrants and created
a prize pool worth $1,255,000. The tournament was hosted by Full Tilt pro Howard
Lederer and paid a total of 738 players, with the first place taking a $216,513
prize. The $240+$16 Pot-limit

The FTOPS XI will feature a total 25 pro-hosted events with buy ins ranging from $100 + $9 to a $5000 + $200 for the two-day event set on February 14th and 15th.  The FTOPS XI guarantees more than $15 million in prize money and a wide variety of tournament types, including Shootout and Knockout tournaments, as well as Razz, Stud and HORSE events. Pros such as Team Full Tilt's Gus Hansen, the 2008 POY John Phan, Josh Arieh and Andy Bloch will be hosting events and conducting Pro Chats in where they will answer questions submitted by online players.

Besides yesterday’s event, the FTOPS XI will offer five events guaranteeing at least $1 million in prize money: the $300 + $22 No-Limit Hold'em Event #10n on February 8th ($1.5 million guaranteed), the $1,000 + $60 No-Limit Hold'em Second Chance tournament Event #12 on February 9th ($1.5 million guaranteed), the $300 + $22 No-Limit Hold'em 6-Max Rebuy Event #17 on February 11th ($1 million guaranteed), the $5,000 + $200 No-Limit Hold'em tournament on February 14th  (Two-Day Event, $2 million guaranteed), and the $500 + $35 No-Limit Hold'em FTOPS Main Event on February 15th ($2.5 million guaranteed).

The FTOPS XI also implemented some changes this year, including the addition of the $200 + $16 Heads-Up Pot-Limit Omaha tournament Event #18, and the implementation of the "Second Chance" format for Event #12, which offers players the chance get a free rebuy within the first hour of play.

In addition to the cash prize, winners of the FTOPS XI events will receive a special FTOPS champion avatar for use on Full Tilt Poker and a limited edition gold FTOPS jersey. All players who make the final table of any FTOPS XI event will receive a limited-edition FTOPS jacket.
