FTOPS event #17 was a $2,500 + $120 no limit Hold’em tournament.  It was a two day tournament with 5,000 in starting chips and 30 minute levels. I was able to watch the end of this event last night and see csimmsux take it down.

I started watching when there were three players left. Csimmsux had over 2 million on both the other players had under 1 million.  The other two players were talking about making a deal, which Full Tilt Poker does not help with, but csimmssux didn't appear interested.  After a while csimmsux saw his lead disappear and he became the lower stack.  It didn't seem to matter as he battled back and when the match became head up both players were pretty even with a little over 2 million each.

Heads up play saw csimmsux take a 2-1 chip lead before he lost a huge pot.  After flopping top pair with a 9-7-6 board csimmsux raised his opponents bet on the flop.  Then he was faced with a tough decision as his opponent went all in.  After at least thirty seconds, csimmsux called with a 9 and a 2 kicker.  He then saw his opponent turn a straight as a 5 came down.  Now he was on the short end of a nearly 2-1 chip count.  Again csimmsux battled back to take the lead.  The final hand saw csimsux limp from the button with A-8 off suit.  The big blind checked and the flop came with an 8 high and two hearts.  Csimms was check raised to $300,000 after he bet $119,000 into an $180000 pot.  He then went all in and was called by a queen high flush draw.  I though this was a terrible call by his opponent as he still had over 1 million in chips.  He put the rest of his money in on a draw while getting bad odds.  Not to mention that the difference in prize money was $180K.

From what I saw csimmsux played a great final table.  He was always in command even when he was the low stack.  It seemed inevitable that he would eventually take down the tournament and he did.
