Fox Network prepares special live coverage of "New Year's Eve Live" celebration at the Mirage Hotel and Casino

Cirque du Soleil LoveThis year, the "New Year's Eve Live" celebration at the Mirage Hotel and Casino will be watched by millions of viewers in the United States thanks to Fox Network’s special live coverage hosted by Spike Feresten of "Talkshow with Spike Feresten" and Mark Thompson of "Hole in the Wall”.

The show will feature "American Idol" season seven winner, David Cook and Award-winning musician and front man of the famous rock bands Stone Temple Pilot and Velvet Revolver, Scott Weiland. Other musical guests and performers also scheduled to appear at the event will be announced within the next days.

Feresten and Thompson will report live from the Las Vegas Strip and will count down to 2009 in company of several celebrity guests and musical artists also expected to perform during the show. As 2008 comes to an end, the celebration will move to New York City to join the world-famous New Year's Eve Ball ceremony in Times Square. A few minutes after the countdown, the world famous daredevil, Robbie Knievel will attempt a 200-foot jump over the recently renovated Volcano attraction located at the Mirage Hotel and Casino. The New Year's Eve jump will commemorate the 41st anniversary of Evel Knievel's devastating jump over the CaesarsPalace’s fountain.

In addition to the exciting celebrations on the Las Vegas Strip, the Beatles REVOLUTION Lounge inside the Mirage will ring in the New Year with an exclusive party to welcome 2009 featuring DJ Trens and Shane Wheel. Guests will also enjoy a champagne toast at midnight to receive the New Year.
