Time briefly stops and it’s impossible to simply walk past this Las Vegas landmark; even those in passing cars pull to the side and take in the show. Every 15 minutes these fountains come alive to the tune of "One, Singular Sensation," featured on Broadway, to "Fly Me to the Moon," the Frank Sinatra classic. You might remember them from the remake of “Ocean’s Eleven opposite George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Julia Roberts.
This spectacular sight is one to add to your list while visiting Las Vegas. The water jets span across the lake more than 1,000 feet and can shoot up to 240 feet in the air in the most choreographically complex water performance ever designed to date. Every dynamic performance is unique in its expression and interpretation. The idea behind the fountains was crafted by Steve Wynn, Chairman of Mirage Resorts who wired the WET design team to realize his design.
The result is impressive. The simplicity of the layout and the variety of water expressions allow for a breadth of artful expressions. The fountains dance to a range of musical works from classical and operatic pieces to popular music and songs from Broadway shows. In addition, many musicians and artists are invited to choreograph the fountain to the different selections giving it its own musical character based on the artist who created it. The performances range from delicate and whimsical to grand and commanding.
Visitors to the Bellagio will be welcomed with an enthralling experience in water; one that will lift their spirits and leave them with a feeling like none other. Be sure to bring a camera. There is no charge for admission. Shows run daily from Monday through Friday, 3 p.m – midnight. Saturdays and Sunday, noon – midnight.
