Organizers of the first ever Cannapalooza, a unique event celebrating the cannabis culture and set to take place from March 19-21, 2010 in Las Vegas, have informed the festival has been canceled due contractual problems with the Mandalay Bay Resort
“We regret to inform all of our fans who were eagerly anticipating the Cannapalooza event that Mandalay Bay has decided to cancel our contract for space and therefore we will not be able to hold the event. We are incredibly disappointed and appreciate the overwhelming support for the event that we have received since first announcing our plans.†states the festival's official website.
The event's cancellation comes only a few days after the trade show organization confirmed that actor and cannabis culture icon Tommy Chong was confirmed to make a special guest appearance during the three day festival. The inaugural Cannapalooza was expected to draw over 50.000 attendees to Sin City for a series of exhibits, demonstrations and educational events covering topics such as legalization, decriminalization and medicinal benefits, simple home garden techniques, green agricultural technologies and more.
