Federation Internationale de Poker Association endorses the 2008 World Poker Congress

The
Federation Internationale de Poker Association (FIDPA) has formally announced
the endorsement of Clarion Gaming's 2008 World Poker Congress (WPC). The third
annual World Poker Congress will take place from October 29th to 30th,
2008 in
FIDPA will send several participants at the WPC to provide information on how to improve the connection between casinos, card rooms, events and organizations with the poker industry and its players, as a way to increase the participation and guarantee the game is equally played on a global level. FIDPA endorsement program distinguishes all the casinos, online poker rooms, events and organizations, for their labors to bond and fortify the increasing poker industry by committing themselves to provide a fair and responsible service and by supporting and implementing "The International Poker Rules" (IP Rules).
"WPC is a unique platform for discussion of exactly these types of issues facing poker businesses and players, so we're thrilled to have the participation and endorsement of FIDPA - to foster those discussions and ultimately, the solutions that allow poker's growth and expansion" stated Dawn Kirkwood, Head of Conferences, Americas, Clarion Gaming.
Professional poker players Marcel Luske, "The Flying Dutchman," and Michelle Lau will attend the WPC to speak about the importance of "The International Poker Rules" and the importance of adopting, supporting and implementing the IP rules as an effort to homogenize the rules, for both the players and the industry. Both players will introduce the IP rules to the members of the European Casino Association, reply questions from attendants and to participate in the breakout session "Hearing from the Players Themselves" a roundtable debate on the most important issues in the industry icluding how poker rooms and online poker sites can assure clarity and fairness to all players.

Some other important industry representatives confirmed to attend the event are Steve Lipscomb, founder and CEO of WPT Enterprises, Chris Parker, CEO of Asian Poker Tours, Matt Savage from Savage Tournaments, specialists in project management with Holland Casino Marco Deen and Norbert Muller, as well as members of the European Casino Association.
