Legendary English singer, songwriter and guitar player, Eric Clapton, has announced the dates for his upcoming Spring 2011 tour, which will make several stops on the West Coast of the U.S, including a stop at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, scheduled on Saturday, March 5th at 8:00 p.m.  Special guest Los Lobos will open the evening's show.

The tour in support of Clapton's latest album simply named “Clapton”, will kick off on February 25th at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, BC, and will also include dates in Seattle, WA (February 26th), Portland, OR, (February 28th), San Jose, CA  (March 2nd), and Universal City, CA  (March 8th), before returning to Europe for a series of shows in Ireland, Scotland and the UK.

Clapton's new album has been described by many as a new and inspiring body of work by one of the world's most legendary guitar players.  Co-produced by guitarist and long-time collaborator Doyle Bramhall II, the album features an all-star cast of musical collaborations starting with the legendary JJ Cale, drummer Jim Keltner, bassist Willie Weeks and keyboardist Walt Richmond.  Additional guests who joined in the musical sessions include Steve Winwood, Wynton Marsalis, Sheryl Crow, Allen Toussaint and Derek Trucks. The tour produced by Live Nation will bring together an impressive set of band members for the 2011 tour which will feature long-time touring partners Steve Gadd (drums), Willie Weeks (bass) and Chris Stainton (keyboards), as well as Michelle John and Sharon White as backing vocalists.
