80's New Wave band Devo will be back on the stage with a new U.S. tour in support of their ninth studio album, and scheduled to kick off on Saturday, June 18th at the Crown Theater in Las Vegas. The 17-date summer tour also includes stops in Pittsburgh, Louisville, Richmond and Chicago before closing on September 18th in in Tempe, AZ.
The band, best known for its extravagant outfits, weirdo lyrics and unusual synthetic instrumentation, reached the Billboard charts in 1980 with the single hit "Whip It", and has maintained a cult following throughout more than three decades of existence.
Devo's wildly-anticipated album “Something for Everybodyâ€Â and launched on June 15, 2010, marks the official return of the band since the release of their last studio album Smooth Noodle Maps in 1990. Devo invited fans to take part in the album's final song selections process by casting their vote for their favorite 12 of 16 recorded tracks that would ultimately comprise their new album. The results were announced via a May 18th online press conference with band members Mark Mothersbaugh and Gerald Casale.
