Crue Fest at The Mandalay Bay

Motley Crue announced in April the start of the inaugural Crue Fest, a new hard rock event that will visit 41 North American cities this summer. The Crue Fest will kick off next July 1st at the Cruzan Amphitheatre (formerly Sound Advice Amphitheatre) in West Palm Beach, Fl, and then will visit another 40 cities including Las Vegas. Motley Crue's concert in Las Vegas will be taking place on August 1st at the Mandalay Bay, the rock festival is headline by none other than Motley Crue but also has a star packed line up of other rock bands which open the show including Buckcherry, Papa Roach, Motley Crue’s bassist Nikki Sixx’s new project SIXX: A.M, and Trapt

The "loudest show on earth" will see all four original Motley Crue members reunited again. Singer Vince Neil, bassist Sixx, guitarist Mick Mars and drummer Tommy Lee will be performing all the band’s classics including “Wild Side”, “Shout at the devil”, “Too fast for love”, “Dr. Feelgood”, “Kick start my heart”,  “Girls, Girls, Girls” and the all time classic and the band’s #1 anthem, “Home, Sweet Home”. Motley Crue is known as one of the originators of the American Glam/Hard Rock movement circa 1982. Following the steps of other Californian bands such as Van Halen, Motley Crue was formed in Los Angeles in 1981 by Nikki Sixx, Tommy Lee and the veteran guitar player Mick Mars, who later auditioned and hired Crue’s front man, Vince Neil. The band’s first album “Too fast for love” was independently recorded in 1981 but later reissued and sitributed by Elektra Records in 1982. After several U.S tours and a wide list of scandals including a court litigation over a kid that set his pants on fire to mimic Mick Mars and Tommy Lee tossing a TV from a window of the Sheraton Caravan Hotel in Canada, the band finally achieved some international notoriety thanks to their inflammable videos and the release of their second album “Shout at the devil”.

After the release of “Theater of Pain”, Motley Crue started touring worldwide, and by 1986-1987 the gang became the number one selling hard rock band in the U.S. Motley Crue later had a series of problems that put band’s promising career on the edge, the addiction and alcoholism almost killed Nikki Sixx in 1987, but by 1989 the band decided to get clean and come with new material. Only a few years after the realizing of “Dr. Feelgood”, Vince Neil was fired from Motley Crue and replaced by John Corabi. Unfortunately the band later releases flopped in the selling charts and the band decided to take a break. Motley Crue has performed a series of concerts including the Route of All Evil Tour with Aerosmith in 2006 and a small European tour in 2007. But now the Crue is alive and they will be back in Since City on August 1st, 2008 when the Crue Fest comes to rock the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. The Crue fest is one of the many festival filled summer concerts you can see and will go up against the Project Revolution Tour as well as Rockstar Mayhem Festival and Warped Tour.

"We are so excited not only to headline our own annual summer festival, but also to be able to share the stage with the next generation of great rock bands. There's not a lot Mötley Crüe hasn't done, so to say this summer's festival is going to be about rock and roll excess is an understatement: A night of hit songs by great bands and a trail of panties coast to coast." said Nikki Six when he was asked about how he feels about the tour. The band said that they will be releasing a new studio album called "Saints of Las Angeles" on June 17th. The Crue Fest tickets are available since April, 2008.
