Organizers of the first-ever American Country Awards have confirmed that country music superstars Rascal Flatts, Toby Keith, Reba McEntire, Blake Shelton and Josh Turner will make a special live performance at the inaugural awards show. The 2010 American Country Awards will air live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Dec. 6th, 2010 on Fox Network (8:00-10:00 p.m. EST live/PST tape-delayed).
The event will also feature special appearances by Lady Antebellum, Laura Bell Bundy, Rodney Carrington, Jewel, Bret Michaels, Ty Murray, Jeff Dunham, Clint Bowyer, Michael Waltrip and Elliott Sadler.
The two-hour primetime special is the only country music awards show that gives fans the chance to vote for their favorite artists in a series of traditional and non traditional categories such as “Touring Artist of the Yearâ€Â. Fans had until November 8, 2010, to cast their vote in all categories excluding the “Artist of the Year†category, which will remain open until December 4th – two days before the show.
Superstars Lady Antebellum and newcomer Easton Corbin lead the inaugural American Country Awardsnominees with seven nominations each; Carrie Underwood earned six nods; and Miranda Lambert and Josh Turner each garnered five.
Tickets for the 2010 American Country Awards can be purchased in person at all Las Vegas Ticketmaster locations (select Smith's Food and Drug Centers and Ritmo Latino), by the phone at (800) 745-3000, or online at WDIAV Tickets section. For more information, please click here.
