Commerce Casino opens University of Poker
- 11-3-2008
Los Angeles based Commerce Casino has officially opened the University of Poker (CCUP), a tuition-free institution where you can learn all you need about poker, never lose any money, and have a good time while you practice with other players. Players can sign up for the "No Beginner Too Green" and "Intermediate" classes beginning on Tuesday, November 4th.
The University of Poker has no prerequisites, no admission tests, no term papers, and best of all, no entry fees or monthly payments, the University teaches students how to play poker and win money without paying for your lessons or putting you in situations in where every mistake can cost you cash.
All the lessons will be imparted

receives at least a handful of calls every day from people asking if we will
teach them to play poker-and asking what it costs. Since people want to learn
the game, we decided to offer instruction to them for free. At our
No Beginner to Green: In the Beginner's Class, Rodd will explain all facets of poker for any new player with an emphasis on Texas Hold'em. The basic lessons will provide information on hand values, blinds; terminology, betting fundamentals and rounds. Players will also have access to visuals, literature and mock poker games until all pupils are ready for the "Final Exam", a student-only freeroll tournament for prizes and the "CCUP Valedictorian Award."
Intermediate Hold’em: More experienced players can also opt for an “Intermediate†level in where they can learn all they need to know on subjects such as Limit, No Limit, Poker Tournament Play, and Live Game Play, with each class focused on the singular and common aspects of that format of play. An inclusive selection of topics will be closely detailed and examined along with specific strategic situations. The intermediate level combines oral and written questions and a student-only freeroll tournament in where players can practice their recently acquired skills and share with other students.
