Award-winner writer, actress and stand up comedian Wanda Sykes will bring her stand up comedy to the CHI Showroom at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino for a two night show set to run on Friday, October 15 at 8 p.m. and Saturday, October 16 at 8 p.m.

Sykes, called "one of the funniest stand up comics" by her peers, ranks among Entertainment Weekly's 25 Funniest People in America.  Known for her smart-witted stand up performances,  Sykes' stinging humor combines outspoken honesty with topics such as politics, religion, gay marriage, karma, healthcare, racial profiling, the pressure of being a woman and the perks of getting older.

Born in Portsmouth, Virginia and raised in Maryland, Syke's comedy career began in 1987 at a Coors Light Super talent Showcase in Washington, DC where she performed for the first time in front of a live audience.

Thanks to notable success in the comedy circle, Sykes moved beyond her career in standup to starr and produce critically acclaimed shows and TV specials. Sykes counts with numerous TV appearances on shows such as "The New Adventures of Old Christine", "Curb Your Enthusiasm" and "Crank Yankers", and has produced several specials for Comedy Central and HBO. More recently, she debuted the first season of "The Wanda Sykes Show" on FOX,  which premiered on November, 2009 and aired on Saturday nights.  Sykes has also worked in feature films  "My Super Ex-Girlfriend", "Evan Almighty”, "Monster-In-Law", "Pootie Tang," "Nutty Professor 2; The Klumps," and "Down to Earth", and was heard in the animated feature "Over The Hedge" and “The Barnyard".
