Tuesday marked the official beginning of the holiday season in Las Vegas, as prominent local figures like Mayor Carolyn Goodman and Santa Clause (of course) came out for the lighting of the Fremont St. Christmas tree.
The 50-ft. tree was the star of the show, however the event was also highlighted by a performance from Candy & The Canes and an appearance by Old St. Nick himself.
The Fremont St. tree lighting is just the first of dozens of family friendly holiday events set to dominate the month of December in Las Vegas.
If you're looking for holiday fun this weekend, the Bellagio Conservatory has once again transormed itself into a Penguin playground for the Holidays - without a doubt the cutest thing you'll ever see in Las Vegas.
On Sunday, Dec. 11th, the annual Holiday Spectacular is set to take place at the Springs Preserve, and includes a 1,000 ft. skating rink and a "fake" snow show in their Amphitheatre.
