Bodog moves back domain to Bodog.com

  • 6-11-2009

In a press released distributed yesterday by the Morris Mohawk Gaming Group, owner of Bodog’s online poker brand license in North America, the gruop has announced that Bodog.com will once again become the central domain name for the poker room’s operations in the U.S starting yesterday. Bodog lost its domain in 2007 after several months of legal disputes with 1st Technology LLC for the unauthorized use of patents held by the company.

Since then, the Bodog operated and redirected its traffic to two domain names, NewBodog and BodogLife.com; however, more recently, the Kahnawake-based company regained control of the domain name Bodog.com after settling the patent infringement lawsuit with Las Vegas-based 1st Technology, LLC, which permits the Morris Mohawk Gaming Group to shift all its operations to Bodog.com. Morris Mohawk Gaming has also set a deal with Bodog Antigua, the licensors of the Bodog brand, to redirect players from other jurisdictions logging on to Bodog.com to their brands.

“Gaining ownership of the Bodog.com domain was a moment of immense pride for me, but that moment has been topped by the return of the domain as the home of Bodog in the U.S. As the exclusive licensee of the Bodog brand for online gaming in the United States, we are thrilled to be a part of the return of one of the industry’s most prestigious and recognizable domains. Visiting Bodog.com from anywhere in the world will enable a player to access the website of their local jurisdiction’s licensee. Morris Mohawk owns the rights to market the Bodog brand to customers throughout North America” Said Morris Mohawk Gaming Group CEO Alwyn Morris in a press release.
