The controversial Dice Clay is known for his unique style of outrageous, in-your-face jokes, which have created him a reputation as one of the most politically incorrect, chauvanistic, macho, and shocking characters in the comedy scene. Clay’s popularity and success reached the top during the late 1980s and early 1990s, when he was ranked number 95 on Comedy Central's list of the 100 Greatest Stand-ups of All Time. However, his attitude both on and off stage caused his career to falter. Clay's most infamous performance happened during the 1989 MTV Video Music Awards and earned him a "lifetime ban" due to his profane language and offensive jokes. After vanishing for a couple of years, Clay returned in 1995, dropping the "Dice" from his name and abstaining from using his "Dice Man" persona to play the role of a family man in CBS' sitcom “Bless This Houseâ€Â. Following the show’s cancellation, Clay worked several times with the famous radio host Howard Stern before his show jumped to Sirius. In 2006, Clay signed a deal with Sirius to produce and broadcast his own show, “Out of the Cageâ€Â. In 2007, 2007, Andrew Dice Clay premiered a weekly VH1 reality TV show “Dice Undisputed†and worked on HBO’s series “Down and Dirtyâ€Â. More recently, the “Diceman†took part on “Celebrity Apprentice†and was the first celebrity to be fired, after he openly refused to sell cupcakes to raise funds for charity and discussed the possibility of quitting the show.
