Actor Ed Norton and WSOP bracelet winner Jamie Gold to host Cannes charity poker event

Officials of the Cannes Film Festival, the Wilhelm & Karl Maybach Foundation and the Sunflower Children Foundation will join forces to host a special celebrity poker tournament scheduled to take place on May 17th, 2009, at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Cannes, France, in where music, film, business, fashion and sports celebrities will gather for an evening of poker action hosted by actor, screenwriter and director Edward Norton, and WSOP Champ Jamie Gold. The winner of this event will get a special 2009 World Series of Poker pack that includes plane tickets, hotel accommodation, private coaching sessions with the 2006 WSOP Main Event Bracelet winner Jamie Gold, and the $10.000 Main Event buy in.
Maybach Foundation officials hope to inspire as many of the 250 V.I.P. guests as possible to get involved and contribute to one of the Foundations’ projects. At the same time, guests will be able to enjoy the unparalleled atmosphere of one of the most famous hotels on the Cote d’Azur and savor the breathtaking view from the cigar and liquor lounge on the waterfront terrace. Maybach Foundation and the Sunflower Children Foundation are honored to have the professional poker player and WSOP bracelet winner, Jamie Gold as co-host and emcee for this event. Gold has participated in numerous charity poker tournaments and events, allowing himself to be auctioned off, making special appearances, or by purchasing buy-ins, Gold has been involved with a wide variety of causes, including “Ante Up For Africaâ€Â, Andy Roddick's charity poker tournament, and a few others. The event will also feature an auction that includes a wide selection of items, including a day with composer, producer and director, Quincy Jones.
In addition, the Maybach Foundation will also hold its annual "Private Luncheon at Cannes"at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc on May 18th, 2009. Numerous sports, music and movie celebrities are expected to attend the event and celebrate with this year’s award winner, who will join previous honorees Dennis Hopper and Quincy Jones. Producers Nathan Folks, Lane Carlson and Jutta Aldenhoff combined effort to offer guests the most exclusive charity event of the year.
