Academy of Country Music has announced the star-studded lineup for its upcoming ACM Brooks and Dunn tribute concert scheduled on Monday, April 19, 2010 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
The concert titled â€ÂACM Presents: Brooks & Dunn – The Last Rodeo†will bring over a dozen performers paying tribute Brooks and Dunn's highly successful career. Jason Aldean, Lady Antebellum, Jennifer Hudson, Miranda Lambert, Brad Paisley, George Strait, Taylor Swift, and Sugarland have joined the all-star lineup set to perform at the concert special. These country music superstars will join the previously announced performers Kenny Chesney, Rascal Flatts, Reba McEntire, Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban.
In addition to the tribute concert, Brooks and Dunn will be honored with the Academy's Milestone Award for holding the record for most wins in the Academy's history with 26 awards in total, including three Entertainer of the Year awards and 15 Top Vocal Duo awards. The duo also has 23 #1 hits, sold more than 30 million records, and won more than 80 major industry awards. In August 2009, Brooks and Dunn announced they will retire as a duo and embark on a final farewell tour this summer, called "The Last Rodeo." "Brooks & Dunn have defined country music for twenty years. With this all-star concert tribute, the Academy is honored to recognize Kix and Ronnie for their contributions to the country music industry, fans and to all the artists they have helped get a break in this business." said Bob Romeo, Executive Director of the Academy of Country Music.
