Absolute Poker badbeat jackpot
- 3-10-2008
I recently noticed that AbsolutePoker changed its bad beat jackpot policy. I have been playing there for few months at the badbeat jackpot tables. The new change is that if a badbeat jackpot is hit; all customers playing that limit get a share of the jackpot. For instance, if your playing in $0.25/$0.50 No Limit Hold’em and someone gets the badbeat jackpot hand you will get a share of the money if you are playing the same limit. So if its 100k, 25% rolls over, 10% goes to house. The 65% would go to the badbeat, so the jackpot would be $65k.
Quad 8’s or better has to be beat and both hole cards have to play. You must have at least 4 players involved in the hand. Out of the $65k, 50% would go to badbeat hand, that’s $32,500. So then 25% goes to the winning hand, which is another $16,250. The players at the table where the badbeat occurred, excluding the two players that have the badbeat hand will get $1k each. The remaining money will be split among all AbsolutePoker.com players involved in the other $0.25/$0..50 No Limit tables.
So my advise is when the jackpot gets as high as $300k, play different variations of the limits. That way you will get a piece of the action. Absolute Poker has badbeat tables in limit from $0.50/$1 to $15/$30 and no limit from $0.25/$0.50 to $3/$6. Oh, one more thing, If your sitting out, you get nothing, so keep yourself into the action for as long as it takes.
