A Live Witness: Ivey vs. MUCKSAYUHH
- 2-16-2008
When I got off of school at 1 PM last Friday, I
quickly noticed some high stakes HU action on Full
Tilt Poker. It was between Team Full Tilt Player: Phil Ivey and
MUCKEMSAYUHH, a respected high stakes player.
Now I only saw the first session; but what I saw is not likely to happen again anytime soon.
Poker can sometimes be a roller-coaster. Highs and Lows. On the first session of these two, the cash was flowing! Here are a couple of hands I remember from the session I saw:
1. Total Pot Worth:238K pot!!!!
MUCKEMSAYUHH wins 238 K, rivering the nut flush. Phil Ivey called all in post flop with Top Pair, Top kicker. It was a hand for the ages. The last time I saw $238 K cross the virtual felt? Ummm never. Thats more than 90 % of Americans make in a year! Holy Hell! Think about that. One minute or one hand rather accounts for what most Americans would be suited making over a 5 year period...Simply outstanding.
MUCKEMSAYUHH left the table with $335 K, he just stood up, but quickly tryped in that he would be back later. Phil must have been fuming.
I got up and phoned my friend, left a voice mail and quickly went back to the table, the railbirds were swarming, buzzing, and overall going crazy all at the same time.
"Hey Muckem" can I get 5 bucks?¨ - One person shouted.
In the end, I heard after two later sessions, Phil Ivey came back to take $70 K from MUCKEMSAYUHH, thus getting all of his money back. Maybe he phones up the boys at FTP and said, "hey, can you spare me a river?"
