There are plenty of things and actions that should be avoided at the poker table, not only because some of them are simply offensive, but also because some actions can tell the rest of the people on the table what kind of poker player you are and in what mood are you playing. Always take in consideration that there’s poker “etiquette”, meaning that certain actions such as yelling at other players or making rude comments during the game are considered out of place. Here is a list of things you should not do while playing poker live.

1) Say you get dealt 9 7 off and fold, and the flop comes 7-7-K. Don't make it obvious that you had that 7, for example, don’t say "man I just folded the 7", or don’t do any actions such as banging your head on the table, or shaking your head. This can give advantages to certain players, and really can ruin it for the people in the pot

2) Don't splash the pot. This means don’t grab a hunk of chips, and literally throw them in the pot. This is frowned upon by all poker players, and is very disrespectful

3) Don’t act out of turn : Simply enough, if it is not your turn, don't act, as it can also give some players help on whether or not to call, raise, or fold.

4) Do not use a cell phone: If you do so at a casino, you will most likely be kicked out of the game, as it is considered a form of cheating.

5) Do not string bet: Say a person bets $10 and the action comes to you. You can fold, call, or raise, what you can not do is say: “Ok, I'll call your $10, and then raise you $20.” You simply either say "fold, call, or raise".

6)  Don't get mad at the dealer: Really, it's not their fault, its not like they control what cards you will get and how the flop will come, they are just doing their job, don't make it harder for them.
