78-year-old woman hits $4.1 million jackpot at The Venetian
A 78-year-old retired physical education and dance teacher visiting Las Vegas with her daughter, celebrated her birthday three days early by winning a $4,141,909 MegaJackpot playing Wheel of Fortune Special Edition pennies at the Venetian Resort Casino. The woman, who did not give her name, said the biggest prize she has ever won on a slot machine was $600.
"My actual birthday is January 13th. When we get home to Oswego, New York, then we'll have a big party. This is hard to believe. In fact, I first thought I had won $4,000 until a casino host told me I had won the jackpot." said the winner.
The lucky winner had been playing the penny machine earlier in the evening and left to meet her daughter. She later returned to the same machine and played about $40 before hitting the multi-million jackpot.
ÂÂ
"I'm going to pay off my car and then talk about the rest of the winnings with my five children, seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren." she added.
