Officials and representatives of Miss America Organization (MAO),  Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority and Planet Hollywood Resort, have recently announced that Miss America Pageant will return to the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas for fifth consecutive year. The annual Miss America Pageant has been held at The Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino home since moving to Las Vegas in 2006.

"Las Vegas and the Miss America Pageant have developed a great partnership and we are excited to continue the relationship. Las Vegas was built to host special events and we are honored to be the host destination of the 2011 Miss America Pageant” said Cathy Tull, Senior Vice President of Marketing at the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA).

The 2011 Miss America Pageant, which celebrates its 90th anniversary in January, will be returning to the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas for an exciting week of preliminary competitions, closing with a revamped live telecast on ABC, on Saturday, January 15th.

The 53 Miss America contestants will meet for the first time in January for three nights of preliminaries taking place on January 11, 12 and 13 at Planet Hollywood's Theatre for the Performing Arts.

"We think it is only fitting that 53 of the most beautiful and talented girls on the planet should be here at Planet Hollywood. We are delighted to have the Miss America Pageant return to our resort and we look forward to showcasing all that this property and Las Vegas have to offer." said Robert Earl, Chairman, Planet Hollywood Resort.

Tickets to the preliminaries, as well as the 2011 Miss America Pageant finals will go on sale later this year.
