2008 L.A. Poker Classic about to begin

The L.A.
Poker Classic has been one of the most exciting events of the World Poker Tour
since its first edition. The L.A Poker Classic main event is preceded by a series
of introductory tournaments, which are scheduled to start next Thursday. The
LAPC will present 30 events over the next six weeks at
Buy-ins for
the L.A Poker Classic events will vary from $335 to $10,000 for the Main Event.
The first event features a $300 buy-in no-limit Hold’em poker tournament. The LAPC started
last year with the same event, which gathered over 1200 players generating a
prize pool of $355,020. Raymond Voskanian took home nearly $114,000 for first
place on the last edition of this event. This year’s event will also feature a diverse
schedule of no-limit Hold’em, the games offered include limit Hold’em, Omaha
eight-or-better, seven-card stud, a ladies-only event, and shootout-style
events with buy-ins ranging from $300 to $2,500.
